It might not be familiar to you, but it is for me; its summer time and some people cannot tolerate the heat! A young woman decided not long a go to wear a sleeveless dress. I must say the dress was discreet and elegant; not short or too “open.” She had a part for Sociedad de Jovenes and, without even consider that her dress might have been a problem, went up to the Plataforma and did her part. A veteran lady who witness the moment said that the only thing she remembers is the prayer that young woman had “it was powerful” she said.
However, on the other side of the church there was Juana, a lady who seemed to feel very uncomfortable with the dress not having sleeves. Before no one notice, this lady started talking out loud about why the young woman should not go up the plataforma. “If she goes up there I’m leaving” she repeated over and over. Many people heard her saying these things but thought she was only talking to herself. Sure enough, once the young lady went up the plataforma, the lady left the church talking, again, loud, about how church must be reformed. Oh, I forgot, Juana was in charge of the biblical game that day, it was cancelled because she was not there and, none of the 5 people that were going to present with her knew what to do (she had all the paperwork and instructions for the game).
Now, the junta will like to talk to both of them, the young woman (dress lady) and Juana. What would you do? How would the members of your church would’ve reacted?

I personally do not think there is anything wrong with wearing a sleeveless dress as long as it covers up what it should (no cleavage or too much back showing). I have and will continue to wear sleeveless dresses to church in the summer time. I am a youth director and have gone up front to direct a program... in my sleeveless dress. I think "Juana" definately over-reacted. Ella hizo un tremendo show for nothing.

Lei los mensajes y realmente escribi pero no tengo cuenta en google y no me acepto la nueva del blog. Pero solo quiero decirte que aunque podamos tener razon en nuestros puntos tambien debemos tener en cuenta que no podemos caer en el jugo del enemigo de "dimes y diretes" debemos atacar la insensibilidad y el fariseismo con amor y demostrando que para ser buenos cristianos no hay que criticar ni atacar. Creo en la Iglesia adventista tal y como Dios la a guiado, pero entiendo tambien que muchos hermanos se creen dueños y señores de la iglesia cometiendo los mismos errores que cometieron los fariseos, añadiendo carga a los delites de Dios.
Creo que esta mal la actitud de Juana pero la critica a Juana solo traera division en la iglesia. No es que nos crucemos de brazos, no!!!
Pero debemos atacar al enemigo con el amor de DIOS, lo que Juana no hizo.
Te dijo esto porque he visto como muchas veces al defender puntos tan validos como los que lei hoy, el enemigo confunde a los de espiritu mas debiles, justificando entonces otro tipo de actitud mas liberales o mas bien diría de libertinage, que solo al final los saca de la iglesia.
Por favor, no me mal interpretes es que ya lo he vivido. Muchas personas trataron de usarme para realizar cosas que solo separan la iglesia por mi impetu de lucha contra esas injusticias de la iglesia. Pero solo cuando cambie y las injusticias las hable con amor tanto con el que las cometio como con quienes las cometieron es que realmente dio un resultado de union y de perseverania en la iglesia.
Hay diferentes caracteres y hay que amar tanto al joven impetuoso como al anciano tradicionalista. Y creeme que hay terceros que solo esperan ver a alguien en la iglesia que demuestre justicia con el amor de Dios para aceptar definitivamente el mensaje que nosostros predicamos.

Y no comento sobre Juanita porque estoy muy cerca de la situacion.
i beleive that juana was over reacting. but it is reality! in my church there has being one lady espicially that is just like juana, but she doesnt say it outloud. all she does is tell others about it or just simply come up to you and say "tu eres una chica bonita y creo que tu vistemento esta 'inapropriate for youre age'" ofcource i ignore her because i dont beleive the samething. plus my father is a very respected man and would not let me or my brother leave out the house dressed innapropiate.
the thing is that this juana in our church only looks at others but doesn't look at her own grandaughter that is 14 years old and dreses like a 18 year old will look like only out of church.
now i have a question. i am one of the helpers in the sociedad jovenes as well as others but im the only gurl, the rest are guys. wen i get home from the culto in the morning i put some jeans on and a shirt. now one of the ladies at church "not juana" tells me.'i have sein you many times at thr sociedad de jovenes with jeans on and i havent told you this before but you cant have jeans on! i was like wat! ah hello! its cold outside and i am not going to church in the afternoon especially when at that time the temperature goes down in a skirt!!! so i dont really no wat to do now? wat do u think? i mean if theres a special thing why i shouldnt were jeans then i wont.knowing what that is of course.
